Katieann Wohlford

Hello, I’m Katieann Wohlford, and I’m so excited to welcome you to Senior Thrive. For over a decade, I’ve dedicated my career to healthcare, starting out as a CNA where I worked directly with seniors. It was in those early years that I witnessed firsthand how deeply loneliness and isolation can affect the brain, and how a lack of movement can take such a toll on the body. Later, when I transitioned into emergency care, I often saw seniors arrive after their health had already declined, sometimes with skin breakdown or other complications simply because they weren’t getting the social interaction or physical activity they needed day to day.

Those experiences shaped my passion and gave me a clear purpose: I didn’t just want to respond when seniors were in crisis, I wanted to help prevent those declines from happening in the first place. With that in mind, I earned my Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration and made the decision to use both my education and hands-on experience to create something meaningful. That “something” is Senior Thrive, a service dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors in King County through opportunities to stay active, connect with others, and enjoy fulfilling experiences tailored to their interests.

I also understand that aging doesn’t just impact seniors, it impacts their families. I’ve seen how adult children often struggle to balance full-time careers, raising their own families, and taking on caregiving responsibilities for their parents. It can be overwhelming, emotionally draining, and at times isolating for the caregiver too. I created Senior Thrive not only to support seniors in living healthier, more connected lives, but also to give their loved ones peace of mind knowing they don’t have to carry the entire weight of caregiving alone.

At its heart, Senior Thrive is about more than just activities. It’s about dignity, community, and creating a better quality of life. I truly believe every senior deserves the chance to thrive, not just get by and I’m committed to building a community where aging is embraced with joy, connection, and purpose.
